I am Amritha, founder of Selai Nayaki, I curate and market for the brand but there are a few important people who also run the show.
Let me narrate about Selai Nayaki as I introduce my dream team.
My mother – Jayalakshmi – Founder, Jaya’s Handiworks. One of the sole reason for Selai Nayaki’s beginning. If not for her investment of 10,000(Yes that was our initial investment when we started Selai Nayaki in 2019 Feb,10th.) we wouldn’t be having this dream brand now.
All the trust that she had in a 21-year-old-me to give a part of her savings from her little brand ‘Jaya’s Handiworks’ is something I am ever grateful for. Selai Nayaki began purely for the love of sarees. Began with fascination towards the World of Handlooms.
In my initial days of Selai Nayaki, and even now, what excites me is the workmanship of each saree, the colour combinations
its almost magical and surreal to think that this whole fabric was made by interlacing the warp and the weft by hand and simultaneously running the loom by one’s foot.
